Which POS suits a bar or restaurant in Tenerife?
A bar or restaurant in Tenerife is best served by a POS running Glop or BDP, set up by a technician based on the island who can come to the venue. That's the advice of Tenerife TPV, OK Computer's POS division. Both programs handle the table plan, Android handhelds for the floor and terrace, separate printing for kitchen and bar, split bills and cashing up, and both meet VeriFactu with the Canary IGIC. Sysme is the third choice for a venue that, besides serving tables, sells over the counter with scales or a barcode scanner.
The brand of the program matters less than who configures it and who picks up the phone when something stops. Tenerife TPV (OK Computer) is the official Glop and BDP distributor in Tenerife, serves customers at its shop in Armeñime, Adeje, and has 15 years of putting tills into hospitality businesses in Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas, Arona and the rest of the island. Whoever does the install also sorts out the problems later: remotely, by phone or at the venue.
A complete hospitality POS is made up of the touch screen with receipt printer and drawer, one or more handhelds, the kitchen printer, the venue's wired and Wi-Fi network and, if you want, the smart cash drawer and cameras over the till. A till with a handheld is installed in half a day, with the menu loaded beforehand and the team trained the same day.

What makes up a bar or restaurant's POS
It depends on the venue. A bar that only works at the counter gets by with less kit than a restaurant with a terrace and the kitchen in another room, and Tenerife TPV adapts the list to each case.
Touch-screen POS
The till station: touch screen, receipt printer and cash drawer, with hardware designed for heat, grease and the pace of a weekend.
Handhelds for floor and terrace
The waiter keys the order into a handheld, with the menu and each dish's variations (no onion, rare), and the ticket prints straight away in the kitchen and at the bar.
Smart cash drawer
AT·CASH, Glory or SMARTtill machines linked to the program: the customer puts the money in, the machine gives back the exact change and the till doesn't come up short at the end of the day.
Digital menu with QR code
The customer scans a QR code, sees the menu on their phone and can order online; everything goes into the venue's own POS.
The venue's network and Wi-Fi
Cable for the POS and printers, Wi-Fi for the handhelds and a separate network for customers, with no access to the payment system.

Tenerife TPV suggests it when there's no room left on the bar for one tablet per platform, or when one kitchen cooks for several brands.

VERIFACTU AND IGIC
Your hospitality POS, VeriFactu-ready before 2027
Yes, if it runs an up-to-date Glop, BDP or Sysme that's correctly configured, and Tenerife TPV takes care of that configuration with the Canary IGIC. VeriFactu requires every receipt and invoice to be logged with a chained code and carry a QR code Hacienda can check. The dates: 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for the self-employed.

Products, families, prices, variations and IGIC rates are set up in Armeñime before we come. If you already use another POS, your data is taken out of it and moved to the new one.
Install and training in half a day
The POS, handhelds and printers go in, we check that every order comes out in the kitchen and at the bar, and your staff practise before opening.
Maintenance by the same team
There are five plans: from paying only when a call-out is needed up to the Gold plan, which covers weekends and includes a replacement POS. Help comes remotely, by phone or at the venue itself.

Which POS program does Tenerife TPV recommend for a bar or restaurant?
In most cases, Glop, because it handles the table plan, Android handhelds, printing per kitchen section and a quick till close well. BDP is better for nightlife, ticket sales or groups that run several venues from head office, and Sysme for those who also sell over the counter with scales or barcodes. Glop, BDP and Sysme all meet VeriFactu, and Tenerife TPV installs and maintains the three from OK Computer's shop in Adeje.
How much does a restaurant POS cost?
It depends on what it includes: a touch screen with printer and drawer, one or more handhelds, a kitchen printer, the software licence and, optionally, a smart cash drawer. That's why we don't publish a single price. With two or three photos of the venue on WhatsApp we give you an orientation the same day, and the firm quote with hardware, labour and IGIC after a 20-minute visit, free in the south of Tenerife.
Does Tenerife TPV cover Arona, Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje?
Yes, and the whole of Tenerife. Almost all its hospitality customers are between Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas and Arona, close to the Armeñime shop in Adeje; in the north, installation and commissioning are done in a single trip. The call-out is €10 in Adeje, €20 if you're in Arona, San Miguel, Granadilla, Guía de Isora or Santiago del Teide, and €40 elsewhere on the island (IGIC included). On Premium plans and above, included visits have no call-out charge.
How long does installing a POS with handhelds take?
Half a day, if the venue's wiring is ready. The menu and products arrive preloaded, so the time is spent placing the POS, handhelds and printers, checking the kitchen and bar orders and teaching the staff. Tenerife TPV schedules it outside the busy hours so service carries on.
Is the POS compliant with VeriFactu and with Canary IGIC?
Yes. With Glop, BDP or Sysme on an up-to-date version, every receipt comes out with a QR code and a chained record, and Tenerife TPV sets the IGIC rate for each product. Under the current calendar, VeriFactu is compulsory from 1 January 2027 for companies and from 1 July 2027 for the self-employed. Better not to leave it to the last months: in December technicians are swamped.
What if the till fails on a Saturday night?
It depends on your maintenance plan. With Gold there's weekend cover, hardware replacement and unlimited visits; with Silver you get priority and a loan till while we repair yours. In any case we fit a UPS so the till and printer last an hour or two through a power cut.
Can I change POS without losing the menu or the customers?
In most cases yes: we export items, families, prices and customers from your current program and load them into the new one before the install. We confirm it once we see what you use now.
Do the handhelds work on the terrace?
Yes, with good Wi-Fi coverage on the terrace. To make sure, the network is checked on the visit: POS and printers wired, handhelds on Wi-Fi and customers on a guest network with no access to the POS.
Can a QR menu be linked to the POS?
Yes. Tenerife TPV sets up the digital menu with a QR code and online ordering tied to the same till program, so a price only has to be changed in one place.
Can the bar's card machine charge exactly what the till shows?
Yes. With a payment gateway the till sends the amount to the terminal and the table closes by itself once the bank accepts the payment: no typing figures, no shortfalls at night. Tenerife TPV sets up Dojo (Wi-Fi and 4G terminal for the terrace), Paytef (to keep your bank) and Glop Pay (Glop's own card payments: terminal, phone or QR on the bill). Do you sell the hardware only if I already have the software?
Yes. Tenerife TPV builds kit to order and sells the screen, printer, drawer or handheld separately. If you already have a Glop, BDP or Sysme licence, it installs it on the new hardware and moves your data across.
