A day in a Tenerife restaurant

From the first coffee to closing time: what the till handles in hospitality

In a restaurant the POS hands out the work: it sends every order to where it's prepared, knows what each table owes and gives you the day's summary without paper. Here is an ordinary day seen from the till.

  1. 08:00

    Opening with the float

Each member of staff logs in with their own code and the day starts with the change counted. At night you'll know who took every payment.

  2. 09:30

    Breakfast rush

The usual coffees, juices and toast on big buttons: three taps and the receipt prints, no scrolling through lists.

  3. 13:30

    Terrace full

The order is taken at the table on a handheld, with notes for the kitchen, and travels over Wi-Fi without anyone crossing the room.

Handheld with the menu on screen
  4. 14:15

Kitchen and bar, each to its own

Dishes print in the kitchen and drinks at the bar, with the table number on top. Less shouting, fewer plates going cold.

  5. 16:00

    Split bills without a calculator

A table of eight paying separately is split by person or by dish. With an automatic cash drawer, the customer puts the money in and the machine gives the change.

  6. 21:00

    Dinner, QR menu and takeaway

Orders placed from the customer's phone land in the same system, at the same prices as in the dining room. One menu to keep up to date.

  7. 23:45

    Cashing up in a minute

Totals by waiter, by payment method and by product, and the cash already counted if the drawer is automatic. Home on time.

  8. Sat 22:00

    If something fails mid-service

With the Gold plan, the same technician who installed the system answers by phone or remotely, and there is a replacement unit if needed.

Which software we install in hospitality
Glop

Our first choice for bars and restaurants: table plan, handhelds and receipts by kitchen section.

BDP

When there are several venues, nightlife, or tickets and drinks to keep track of.

Sysme

If besides serving tables you also sell over the counter with scales or barcodes.

A day in a Tenerife shop

From the supplier's delivery to closing: what the till handles in retail

In a shop the POS is your live stock count: every sale takes items off, every delivery adds them, and the shelf label matches the price at the till. Here is a normal day seen from the counter.

  1. 08:30

    The supplier arrives

The box barcodes are scanned and the goods go into stock straight away. A new product is created at the counter itself by scanning its code.

  2. 09:00

    Labels that tell the truth

Shelf labels come from the same system that takes the money: change a price and it changes in both places at once.

  3. 10:30

    Loose produce

The scale weighs, prints a label with the amount and a barcode, and the till just scans it. Nobody types kilos or euros.

  4. 12:00

    Rush hour at the till

A scanner at every checkout and card or cash payments without queues. With an automatic drawer the change is exact and cash doesn't pass from hand to hand.

  5. 13:00

    Exchanges and returns

Gift receipts, size swaps or refunds in seconds, and regular customers' points or discounts apply automatically.

  6. 17:00

    Reorder alert

When an item drops below the minimum you set, the system warns you and prepares the order for the supplier.

Shelf with labels and a low-stock alert
  7. 19:30

A company asks for an invoice

A full invoice with tax ID issued from the till and recorded just like a normal receipt, without switching programs.

  8. Month end

The accountant and the other shops

An export for your accountant in moments and, if you have more than one shop, the sales and stock of all of them from head office.

Which software we install in retail
Sysme

For a single shop: stock, scales and barcodes, very well handled.

BDP

For chains: items and prices from head office and transfers between shops.

Glop

In its retail version, when the shop also has a bar or café.

VERIFACTU · FOR BOTH

2027: the year every receipt carries a QR code

Spain's verifiable invoicing rule (Royal Decree 1007/2023) requires the software that issues your receipts and invoices to store them chained together, with a QR code Hacienda can check. It applies to companies from 1 January 2027 and to the self-employed from 1 July 2027.

  • Glop, BDP and Sysme already have an adapted version: we install it and test it with your real receipts
  • IGIC is set item by item, which is where the mistakes usually are
  • We show your staff how to void or correct, because an issued receipt can no longer be deleted
  • If your current software won't be adapted, we move your data to one that will

POS OFFERS AND ALERTS

Shall we tell you when there’s a POS offer?

Leave your address and Tenerife TPV will write only when it has something to say: discounted hardware, a manufacturer’s promotion or a rule change that affects your till. No weekly filler.

Your address is held by Dalmon Sistemas S.L. and used for these mailings alone. Every message carries a link to stop receiving them.

Tell us what you sell and how you take payment. We'll tell you which system you need.

A bar counter, a restaurant with a terrace, a greengrocer with scales or three shops sharing one catalogue don't need the same thing. We look at the venue, propose only what you'll use and put it in writing, IGIC included. You can also come and see us in Armeñime, Adeje.

Tailored, no-obligation quote. We reply Monday to Friday during shop hours. Tenerife TPV is OK Computer's point-of-sale brand (Dalmon Sistemas S.L.).

Common questions about POS systems

What is Tenerife TPV and how does it relate to OK Computer?

Tenerife TPV is the part of OK Computer (Dalmon Sistemas S.L.) devoted only to point-of-sale systems for hospitality and retail. It works from the shop in Armeñime, Adeje, with the same technical team and phone number. Alarms and cameras are covered at ajaxtenerife.com and general IT at okcomputertenerife.com. We work in Spanish, English and Italian.

Which POS software should I choose: Glop, BDP or Sysme?

It depends on the business. For a bar or restaurant we usually install Glop, for its table plan and handhelds. For a shop, Sysme, which handles stock, scales and barcodes very well. BDP suits nightlife and businesses with several venues managed from head office. All three have a VeriFactu version.

When does VeriFactu become mandatory?

Under the current calendar, from 1 January 2027 for companies and from 1 July 2027 for the self-employed. Better to adapt with time to spare: updating the software, checking IGIC and testing receipts takes a few days.

How long does it take to install a till?

Half a day in a venue that's ready. The menu or catalogue is loaded beforehand at the shop, so on site we only install, test and train your staff. In a chain we go venue by venue without closing any of them.

Can my data be moved from the software I use now?

Almost always. We take items, categories, prices and customer records out of the current system and load them into the new one. As soon as you tell us which one you use today, we'll confirm it.

Can I buy just the hardware?

Yes: screen, receipt printer, drawer, scales, scanner or handheld on their own. If you already have a software licence, we move it to the new hardware with your data.

How much is the call-out fee?

€10 in Adeje; €20 in Arona, San Miguel de Abona, Granadilla de Abona, Guía de Isora and Santiago del Teide; €40 elsewhere in Tenerife (prices include IGIC). Visits included in the Premium plans and above carry no call-out fee.

How do I ask for a quote?

Use the form on this page or WhatsApp, ideally with a couple of photos of the venue and what you want to solve. You'll get a first idea the same day; the fixed quote follows a short visit, free of charge in the south of the island.
